Pediatric Eye Care
Comprehensive vision exams are important to ensure proper development of a child’s visual system. Several vision problems arise from conditions that can be identified by an optometrist in an infant’s first year of life. Dr. Crabtree participates in the InfantSEE program which provides one vision exam at no cost to infants between the ages of 6-12 months. A comprehensive exam is then recommended at age 3 and again before entering Kindergarten. School age children should get regular eye exams every 1-2 years.
InfantSEE is a no cost public health program endorsed by the American Optometric Association which provides a one-time, comprehensive eye assessment to infants in their first year of life, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems at no cost regardless of income. This program also gives new parents the peace of mind that their infant's vision is developing properly.
